TORONTO, Ontario – (February 21st, 2024) – The Lexus UX Hybrid gets a new, larger number in its badge for the 2025 model year – plus more power under the hood. That’s just the start of the upgrades Lexus Guests will discover in the exclusively-electrified compact luxury crossover that delivers the driving agility of a well-engineered hatchback with SUV-like versatility.

“The UX Hybrid has built a reputation for urban agility and for 2025, Lexus engineers have boosted performance to enable our compact luxury crossover to bring more power to the streets,” said Martin Gilbert, Director of Lexus Canada. “We’ve also updated the new UX 300h with our latest bundle of safety technologies and added a new, larger digital instrument cluster to select grades – ensuring this model continues to deliver a refined, urban experience that’s a perfect partner for our Guests’ active lifestyles.”

New this year, the 2025 UX 300h becomes the first Lexus vehicle powered by the fifth-generation of the Lexus Hybrid System. This self-charging hybrid-electric powertrain features an inline four-cylinder gas engine with two motor-generators, an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission, and a compact lithium-ion battery pack that replaces the previous generation’s nickel-metal hydride battery. Engineers fitted this system with a new hybrid transaxle to enable higher output from the front and rear motors to give the UX 300h 196 combined horsepower – up 15 horsepower from the previous model. This powertrain also features a new shift-by-wire technology that eliminates mechanical connections to create a quicker and more seamless shifting experience.

All grades feature the additional all-weather driving confidence of the Lexus AWD system as standard. This system includes a permanent synchronous motor on the rear axle for near-instantaneous drive force application when accelerating, cornering, or driving in low-grip situations. A low centre of gravity and careful tuning of the chassis and suspension systems results in a nimble, responsive driving experience.

Curbside, the UX 300h expresses cutting-edge design. Up front, LED daytime running lights are arranged in an arrowhead motif above the LED headlights to create the Lexus L-shaped lighting signature. These bracket the signature Lexus spindle grille and flow out from the lines of the front fascia to envelop the cabin. The UX’s aerodynamic profile includes a power moonroof plus 18” grade-specific alloy wheels clad in run-flat tires and pushed out to the corners. At the rear, unique Aero Stabilizing Blade Lights begin at the top of the rear fenders and span the rear of the vehicle to project a distinctive night-time signature formed by a sequence of 120 LEDs. New for 2025, Lexus adds Copper Crest to the body colour choices for select grades.

The UX’s striking design blurs the boundary between exterior and interior. The hood appears to flow into the instrument panel, creating a sense of seamless continuity. The driver-centric cockpit offers a commanding view of the road, with controls harmoniously at hand, and technologies designed to elevate the experience. With ample seating for five, the UX 300h provides a spacious atmosphere for uncompromising luxury, while dual-zone automatic climate control tailors the interior environment to suit individual preferences. Rear seats split 60/40 to provide up to 486 litres of cargo space, while lifting the cargo deck reveals a second storage area below, which increases available capacity by 26 percent.

Every 2025 UX 300h is impressively equipped with advanced yet intuitive technology features, headlined by the Lexus Interface. This wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto-compatible multimedia and connectivity system features a touchscreen display, Bluetooth connectivity, and Sirius XM Satellite compatibility. The Lexus Interface incorporates a natural language virtual assistant that enables a voice-first approach to navigation, media, communication, and other vehicle features. In addition, all Lexus Interface connected services may be controlled from a smart phone equipped with the Lexus App. And to handle any device-charging needs, the UX is standard equipped with five USB ports throughout the cabin.

As a Lexus, every UX 300h also features state of the art safety systems. New this year, the UX has been upgraded to Lexus Safety System+ 3.0. This is the newest version of the Lexus portfolio of active safety technologies, which supports the driver’s awareness and decision-making under a range of traffic conditions and contingencies. Other standard safety features on all models include a backup camera, the Blind Spot Monitor system with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, 10 airbags, and a tire pressure monitoring system with auto location.
