TORONTO, ONTARIO – December 10th, 2021 – The wait is almost over: Canadian drivers can add December 10th to their calendar and prepare to build their ultimate luxury sport utility flagship SUV. That’s when the the all-new, fourth-generation, 2022 Lexus LX 600 launches – with four beautiful, beautifully-appointed models.

“Everything about the new LX is new – from the foundation to the finish – and it is, without a doubt, the most advanced and most capable full-size luxury SUV we’ve ever offered,” said Martin Gilbert, Director of Lexus in Canada. “Our Canadian guests who are looking to make 2022 truly memorable can soon start designing their new LX online, with all models – including our first-ever LX F SPORT and VIP Executive editions – going on sale at Lexus Canada dealers across the country starting January 20.”

For 2022, Lexus designers gave the LX a complete makeover – improving every aspect of the model, while retaining the essential qualities that have made it a luxury SUV icon since the LX was launched in 1995. Whether it’s long-range cruising in comfort and luxury, or adventure seeking beyond the end of the pavement, the LX has earned its reputation for luxury and capability.

The evolution of the LX starts with a new body-on-frame design built off the new GA-F platform. Engineers have lowered the vehicle’s centre of gravity and reduced its weight, while increasing body rigidity. These improvements combine with a high-output, high-torque twin turbo engine, electronically controlled brake, and electric power steering to enable the LX to deliver the Lexus Driving Signature to guests – achieving a balance between exhilaration and stability through turning, acceleration, deceleration, and off-roading.

The GA-F platform also enhances comfort, while giving Lexus designers greater freedom to craft a beautiful, compelling, and refined SUV. The all new exterior and interior design marries superior function with stunning style. The 2022 Lexus LX expresses a dynamic driving experience, from its strong front face with all-new spindle grille, through muscular wheel arches ready to frame available 22” forged aluminum wheels, to the redesigned LEXUS rear logo that symbolizes the next generation of luxury motoring.

Inside, an all-new cabin welcomes guests to the utmost in comfort, utility, and luxury. Most models offer space and comfort for up to seven adults in a three-row configuration – while the first-ever VIP Executive grade dispenses with the third-row seat to create a four-person cabin with an expansive and airy rear seat experience.

The biggest enhancement to in-vehicle technology is the introduction of Lexus Interface – an all-new multimedia system developed in North America for next-generation Lexus models. In the new LX, this system features a 12.3” upper touchscreen with an added LX-exclusive 7” lower touchscreen to deliver an exceptional, immersive, multimedia experience. The LX multimedia system is fully compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Lexus Interface enables a voice-first approach for Guests to interact with their vehicle… just say “Hey Lexus” to get started. The standard Lexus Assistant allows access to media, phone, and certain vehicle features such as climate control, while Intelligent Assistant (included with Drive Connect) employs natural language processing to help you with directions, and more. Furthermore, Lexus Interface supports User Profiles that automatically save each driver’s personal settings in the cloud and follow Guests between any Lexus Interface-equipped vehicle.  Once a profile is created in the Lexus App, Guests can use a smart device, smart key or manual login to access it in the vehicle.

While designers crafted a new look and feel for the LX, engineers went to work on the vehicle’s performance. All 2022 Lexus LX models are built around a 3.5L V6 twin-turbo engine that delivers more torque while using less fuel than the V8 of the previous generation. This engine, generating 409 peak horsepower and up to 479 lb-ft of torque in a wider RPM range, has a fuel consumption of 14.2 / 10.8 / 12.7 L/100 km (city/hwy/comb). This engine is mated to a Direct Shift 10-speed automatic with paddle shifters, which produces smooth starts, impressive, acceleration, and quick shifts – creating a driving rhythm that’s in harmony with the sound of the engine.

Sophisticated handling and control systems – including Active Height Control and Adaptive Variable Suspension – help provide improved grip, traction, and control as well as a sense of strength and security. When off-roading, newly enhanced systems including Multi-Terrain Select, Crawl Control, and the Muti-Terrain Monitor enable guests to conquer even the toughest off-road conditions with greater confidence.

For those seeking even more spirited performance with aggressive styling to match, the 2022 Lexus LX F SPORT offers sportier driving dynamics and many F SPORT exclusive details. For ultimate luxury, the four-seat VIP Executive grade achieves unparalleled rear-seat comfort with seats that recline up to 48 degrees, up to 930 mm of legroom in the second row, and a long list of exclusive comfort and luxury appointments.

As a Lexus, every LX series model is impressively equipped with state-of-the-art safety features. The all-new LX is enhanced with Lexus Safety System + 2.5. This portfolio of active safety technologies supports the driver’s awareness and decision-making under a range of traffic conditions and contingencies. Other safety systems include a backup camera, the Blind Spot Monitor system with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Brake, the Lexus Panoramic View Monitor, and Intuitive Parking Assist with Auto Braking.
